I’m feeling particularly wanderlust-y right now, but not in the “Let’s bolt for Europe/South America/Africa” sort of way (although that would be nice, too). More about wanting to reconnect with nature – get more comfortable spending time in the great outdoors. I think living in LA is getting to me that way. It’s wonderful here, and there’s so much to do and see and there’s always something happening. It would just be so nice to spend a bit more time not on concrete. And yes, there are great hiking trails and things to see that way, but in the summer it’s all a bit depressing because everything is that oh so lovely uniform shade of brown. I stumbled upon this quote from Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates by Tom Robbins and it sums up how I’m feeling quite nicely:
“I’ve sucked way too much cement for this year. Bad juju rising off them city sidewalks. I need to babble with a brook or two, inhale starlight, make friends with some trees.”
Let’s go explore, shall we?
